December 3, 1945, Bucharest, Romania, of parents: Florea and Lucretia Dumitru.

Education

Upon completion of higher education, Alexandru Dumitru took employment with TV Romania in 1966.

During 1967-1975 he was actively involved in the production of renown shows like: Cerbul de Aur (The Golden Deer), Cantarea Romaniei (The Song of Romania), Revista sau Opereta (The Musical Magazine or the Operetta), Floarea din Gradinta (The Garden Flower), Steaua fara Nume (The Nameless Star), and many other various sports and national events.
Between 1975-1977 - he studied at the American Film Institute (AFI).
During 1977-1979 - Special Video-Training at the American Mobil Video in Los Angeles, California.
From 1980-1989 he worked as a stage manager, technical director and cameraman for the Financial News Network (FNN).
